About Smart Programmes

Let us tell you about us:

Building Human Capital for Malaysia

When Stamford College was established in 1950, a few years after the Second World War, the college’s vision was to provide education for those who had their education disrupted during the conflict. The nation lacked good qualified people to continue rebuilding the country. Getting an education overseas was beyond the reach of the ordinary people. The role that Stamford played was precisely what the country needed at this crucial time. At a time when there were hardly any alternative routes to get a basic qualification, Stamford played a vital role in filling this gap. Elementary courses like basic accounting, typewriting, shorthand and English and later the Cambridge school Certificate and diplomas were introduced. The rest is history. Today we are proud to note that a large population of prominent leaders of industry, entrepreneurs, international collaborators, skilled workers and others spread across the world and Malaysia once walked the halls of learning in Stamford.

New wave of Education

One of the most striking features about Seri Stamford College is that Stamford has never remained constant. It changes, evolves and initiates new changes that will create new opportunities and markets for its students. Dato’ Vincent Leong, Managing Director of Seri Stamford College states, “We are always looking at the matching of new courses and what is required by the manpower needs of the country so that there is no gap or mismatch. New collaborations especially e-learning is now becoming the norm with the advent of technology. Students will now be able to get qualifications that will give them access to Australian degrees throughout collaboration with Chambers International Business School. Another strategic move has been to introduce online learning with the AeU University in Malaysia which will now make MQA recognised Master degrees in Education, Business Administration and Information Technology available to working adults and others. The advent of technology to day has today altered the education scenario. Online degrees are not stigmatized as before and they are becoming more acceptable as technology can enhance learning in and out of the classroom. Today, even traditional colleges and universities have established alternative online education platforms.” Meanwhile, our tradition forms of learning continue to strengthen with our association with the University of London, the Leeds Beckett University, and Federation University Australia.
